History of Palmistry
When Bharat-Varsha was at
its Zenith , Greece , Iran and Misser even were in the 'deep'. Nobody
even knew them. With the passage of time this science spread from India
to Tibet , China , Greece , Iran and other countries. This philosophers
of these countries almost adored this science. Not only that but after
going deep in this science; they taught to their
countrymen (disciples).
In Germany , 'invented'
the 'printing press'. City of Oxemberg was first to have a printing
press. In 1475 One book was published. It was "BIBLE", then next book
was regarding "HAST SAMUDRIK". Its name was Diekunest.
cyroment. In 1490 another book 'Cyromentia
Aristotal's Cum Figuris' was published. These two books
are very much there in the
British Museum .
Hereinafter this science
spread to England . But it proved too heavy for the English to digest
it. This great science was insulted there because of their extravagant
way of life leading them to apathy and darkness. The church also added
to these drawbacks. Henry VIII was merely a puppet in the hands of the
allergy, who were the real rulers of England . Meanwhile the Pope
ordered the king to declare Palmistry as 'pagan' science like
Black-Magic, Magic and 'gimmick' dealing with the spirits and ghost. The
persons engaged in the profession of palmistry were warned of dire
consequences if they continued with this to pagan profession.
Times suddenly look a U
turn with the accession of Elizabeth daughter of Henry VIII. She was a
believer of this science; not only that but took deep interest in it and
encouraged this science. She also appointed one great British Palmist
John as her personal palmist. During the rule of George IV, the bill
passed by the parliament in the reign of Henry VIII, denouncing
palmistry, was severely criticised the bill read : "Any person found
practicing palmistry; is hereby deemed a 'rogue' and vagabond, to be
sentenced to one year's imprisonment'.
Fortunately for this
science this dire state didn't continue for long. With the onset of 19th
century; there set in age of science, leading to scientific analysis of
palmistry and the science not only withstood this acid test but in 1953,
also came out of it with much more lustre. This lustre turned into
dazzling brilliance with an epoch making discovery by Messiner - a
western scholar who said that there are certain atoms in the palm which
travel along the red lines in it (palm). The atoms are directly
connected then in turn they create certain 'waves' and tremors which
affect each and every part of our body. This phenomenon subsides
naturally with the terminal end (death).
The palmistry is inbedded
in daily rituals of the Aryas. Since time immemorial our sages have
soacked our lives thorough and thorough with these rituals. Alongwith
these, palmistry too was given precedence. The epoch-making books like 'Achar-Pradip';
'Anhik-Sutravali'; 'Nitya-naimitic Karmashastra' note about palmistry.
The 'Anhik-Sutravali' says; one must look' at one's palm on waking from
sleep. The shloka is :
Karagre Vaste Lakshmi, Karmule Tu Sarswati | Karmadhye Tu
Govindah Prabhate Kardarshanam |
This means, Laksmi
lives in the forepart of the palm, Saraswati at the root; and the
Lord of the universe or that of our senses (GO);
in the middle of the palm. This means that one can create one's luck
byhimself, if Saraswati is rooted in him; Vishnu (truth) is in his
Karma. So in turn
Lakshmi Money has got to come
Karagre Vaste Lakshmi . Our revered
'Dadaji" (Pujya Pandurang Shastriji) too, has given preference to this 'Shloka'
amongst 10 shlokas preceeding the Tri-kal-Sandhya.
There is a dictum in
English that "Man is the architect of his own fortune." Our dictum says
that the fortune and the circumstances are of our own making, acording
to our Loard Manu : At the root of the thumb there is Brahma - tirth, at
the root of the fingers there is Prajapati-tirth; at the fingers tips it
is Dev-tirth, and the space between thumb and first finger (Prathma or
Pradeshini) there is Pitru-Tirth. The Gods, the planets; the zodiacs and
the constellations all are there in our palm. One's fortune (Bhagyachakra)
is written on one's palm. The palm is one's horoscope, the book of one's
future. Even the Bible speaks many a word about the palm. The old
testament says : The God caused signs of seais on the hands of all the
sons of men might know their works.
The greatest palmist of
our age Chiero has said that more authentic knowledge about palmistry;
he got from the Indian pundits likewise many other palmists accept that
they are indebted to India pundits for deeper knowledge of this science.
Needless to say that
palmistry was born in India and other nations borrowed much from our
sages' knowledge.
Historically speaking this
science was known to and developed by the Egyptians, Chaldians, Greeks
and Arabs. Even great philosopher Aristotal and Mathematician
Pythagoras, too, have written number of books on Palmistry.
The great philosopher
Adrian adolffh Des Borralles firmly believed that in 'Kabala'; all the
esoteric science is imbedded in seed-form. Des Borralles was born in
France on 22-8-1801; and died 11-2-1886. His works spread over 50 years
in various esoteric science. His genuis, his endeavour and his
analytical 'study have added to a great deal in the field of palmistry.
He predicted fortunes of thousands of people and guided them through
palmistry Selflessly. His name spread throughout the length and breadth
of Europe . Des Borralles wrote many a books on Palmistry and gave basic
and logical principles regarding this science. Due to this, great
doctors and medical luminaries many expert of the pysical science ? like
D.R. Pantingny and D. Arpentingny, too, were attracted towards this
science and they themselves started research in this field. They opined
that this science is authentic. No less than a scholar and historian
Count saint Germain, too, turned exponent of palmistry after studying
works of Des Borralles. To him Des Borrales was mentor. He also added
much to this science through his knowledge and experience. His book 'The
practice of Palmistry for Professional Purposes' is still regarding as
authentic work. From the great are exellency books of Des Borralas,
Caunt, Saint Germain give very much transperancy with his vast
experience the mixes up his knowledge with it.
Zech scholar W.J. Benhans
was attracted towards palmistry from his teen age. At 13 he used to read
books on this science. His man focus was on different shapes of palm. An
aged Gypsy guided him to excel in palmistry. His book 'The Laws of
Scientific Hand Reading' is the result of his years of hard work and
still considered as one of the most authentic works on palmistry.
Other western scholars
like Noel Jaquine, Katharine Mill, Fred Getting, Maria Gardini have
contributed to a great deal in palmistry. The great palmist Mir Bashir
has referred to Maharshin Valmiki, and has said in his' book, "The art
of hand analysis" : "One of the oldest such manuscripts is attributed to
Valmiki Maharshi; a legendary figure mentioned in the religious
literature of four to five thousand years age. This book known as the
teachings of Valmiki Maharshi on mail palmistry is assumed to have been
a revalation to him, from a devine source and is regularly as defination
works on a definitive work on the art of hand reading."
Our Puranas and the
Ramayana, too, say that Devarshi Narad had predicted seeing Mata
Parvatis palm, about her future husband and in turn gave description
of Bhagwan Shanker.
